The Things that People Do

I may not be much of an expert when it comes to naming children. Although, with the exception of my father, everyone has like our daughter's name. Anyways, it seems that we now live in a world where no absolutes, self-expression, and moronic stupidity are prevalent. At least for people who decide to name their children things like "@". I'm not kidding. Check out the article here:

Naming kids weird things, like @

And while we're at it. How about these people who make couches out of things such as mousepads, old computers, fed-ex boxes and whatever else they dream up after dropping acid:

I don't think these people were trying to name their kid a weird name. The Chinese don't have an alphabet! The number of symbols available for names is incredibly limited. In fact, I have read that out of the 1 BILLION people in China only 176 symbols are used for names. Imagine being in a large group, calling out your daughters name and having 50 people turn around and respond!!!!
In Chinese, the "a" and the "t" sounds produce a word that implies love.

The symbol "@" is a beautiful way for parents to express love for their singular child in a culture that writes in symbols, not letters!

I agree on the love thing. However, wait until this child grows up and has to try and find a way to register an e-mail account.

Ask the artist formerly known as prince! Registering any e-mail acount with a symbol as a name is difficult!
