Day 209
In addition to a new post-processing technique, I've also been working on some other photo techniques in extreme or traditionally "unfavorable" lighting situations. This is one of those times when it worked out great. I also figured that one decent photo of my kids deserves another, and it seems that it was my daughter's turn.

Day 208
I've been experimenting with a new black and white processing technique lately, that I like quite a bit. Here's an example of a recent image I used this with.

Day 204
These are our wedding rings. Worn by 10 years of marriage, I'd submit that they mean more now than they ever did.

Day 201
Yes, believe it or not, I actually still do take pictures with something other than my phone. This shot was taken today on a whim. It's our sorry christmas tree that was never picked up by city collection this year.

Day 196
This is the first time that I have ever included a client photo for my photo a day project. I like this photo too much not to share. I love the moodiness of the image and the strong directional lighting. No exif data this time, but I know that I was shooting the 85mm wide open at ISO 1000
or 1600.

Day 186
For those of you who follow this blog regularly, the following 10 images are from a series that I did of my kids under some camera limitations. For the technical details, I simply put a short extension tube on an 85mm 1.8 fixed-focus prime lens. This extension tube eliminates autofocus, aperture control, and severely limits my depth-of-field. What it does do is allows me to focus the lens about 1 foot away from my subject and try to capture what I can in a very shallow depth of focus. I decided to focus on each of my kids as the subject matter, or at least features or items that represent them or their personalities. The follow 10 images will be posted without any data on exposures or anything, since the idea of the project has just been explained here. Enjoy!
